Slows down Windows, BUT...

I received this product on Oct. 26,2006 and have been using it for only three days, so my observations are a little limited.I successfully installed the program and created an account with Symantec -- no problems there. It ran a full system scan and found and removed some problem files. However, as another rater posted, it slowed down Windows to an agonizing crawl (it took over a minute just to launch an application). Every click of the mouse key meant at least 20 seconds for Windows to respond...

"upgrade" problems!

I am incredibly disappointed with the amount of time and trouble I have now had to go through to "update" my subscription to Norton Internet Security program.Your software gave me a pop-up telling me that the subscription had expired and gave me a link to click to renew my subscription.Great!Except it didn't work.All I got was a dialog asking for a number that I didn't have.I could call your service phone number or use the web to update.I chose to use the web.Your site actually worked well for choosing...

Great Security Suite!

I was at first apprehensive about getting Norton Internet Security 2007 after ordering it and then reading the reviews about their 2006 version, but I have the found things said to be contrary.The protection suite is an upgrade from Norton's AntiVirus that I have had in the past and was replacing Zone Alarm Pro's firewall on my computer.The price of the software includes a one-year subscription to receive updates to the pieces of the suite via Live Update.The control panel allows you to configure...

Symantec finally listened to users

Finally the bloatware is gone!They've trimmed down the number of running services to an acceptable level, and performance is no longer an issue.I like the new firewall features, and can do without the spam filter (which is no longer included).By the way, take note, this software is for XP only, so don't complain here that it won't run on your Commodore 64.I moved away from NIS in the past and chose Zonealarm's security suite, but I've NIS 2007 is staying on the 2 computers I own.Very happy......

Bad Product

Norton Internet Security 2007 has to be one of the worst products that I have ever purchased.It slowed my PC to an unacceptable level.When I disabled some of its unnecessary functions, it continued to slow my PC and gave me the bonus of irritating & uneccesary notifications/ warnings.I was a longtime, dedicated user of Norton, but that has changed.Try something else and avoid reduction of speed, adding an addtional bar to screen your screen, additional clutter and other deficiencies.
