Being totally new to any kind of 3d modeling I found my self designing my parts in just a few hours. The tutorials were easy and informative. The alibre community is an added value to this software package that can not be purchased at any price.

If you're looking for the best value in 3D parametric solid modeling applications on the market today, you don't have to look any further than the Alibre suite of design tools. I've been using Alibre Professional for three years. It is a fully featured application, with a long list of features, including sheetmetal, assembly, and model linked drafting workbenches, and PDM repository, that work seamlessly together. As far as solid modeling is concerned, Alibre performs right along side higher end CAD tools, with no apologies for a price to feature ratio, none of the others can match. Alibre is also the only company I am aware of the will let you download a free version of their software, Alibre Xpress, that retains almost 100% of the functionality of the fully licensed version for your use, and will let you purchase, again at incredibly reasonable prices, additional modules to further enhance the functionality of the free version. For any company or individual searching for a 3D parametric solid modeling CAD application, you should seriously consider Alibre Design. The company and the application are second to none. If you want more insight into how people are using Alibre, and get a real idea of what the user base thinks of the tool, visit the Alibre Forum, accessible from Alibre's website, and don't forget to take a look at the Open Prosthetics Project, a public service intiative sponsored by Alibre.
