Product Description

ATI's TV Wonder VE allows you to watch TV on your PC. Simply install the TV Wonder VE, plug into an antenna or cable jack, and you can surf up to 125 television channels in a window or full screen while you work in other applications.

Included is the ATI Multimedia Center, which enables many advanced features like Channel Preview, which lets you scan through all available stations in seconds, see "what's on" at a glance, and Video Desktop, which lets you display a live TV signal as video wallpaper.

With an Internet connection, you'll have access to GUIDE Plus+ Interactive Program Guide (North America only). Scroll through TV listings while watching the current channel in a window. Search and schedule programs for viewing or recording by title, category (e.g., golf, comedies, drama), actor/performer, or date. You get all this for no monthly fee.

With the TV Wonder VE, you'll be able to digitally record any TV program. Set the time and channel of any program you want to watch and you will be notified when it comes on, or you can have the TV Wonder VE digital VCR record the program to your hard drive so you can watch it later.

The TV Wonder VE is compatible with all graphics sub-systems supporting DirectX overlay, including products from 3Dfx and nVidia.

Hardware works as advertised but software is buggy.

So after buying this product in Circuit City and running into problems with this from the getgo, I looked up the reviews on this product to see if others had experienced the same or similar issues as I was. My symptoms included the software freezing up on shutdown and sometimes keeping the computer for shutting down properly (system would hang at 'Shutting Down'). I am running a WinXP for those of you who are curious.First thing I did was uninstalled the software including the drivers and replacing...

Great Product!

I bought this and it took about 10 minutes to install. I am running an XP machine and you need to download the XP Drivers from ATI's site. Don't even bother with the enclosed CD, everything is in the XP download. The picture is wonderful. I can input video from my analog camcorder and record with DVD quality. AND all the software I use that has a capture option, recognizes the card. I spent [money] on USB Instant DVD and can only use the few apps that come with it. ATI WONDER TV is a Great Product...

first of all, (...)it doesn't even automatically set the system audio so you can record TV WITH SOUND, after a few runs, it just blanly fails to start and say you have to reboot!!the hardware is buggy too, I can watch TV ok, but when I record, the recorded video has a terrible squeak like "ssssssssssssss", drives you nuts, my system had no problem with recording whatsoever before.Most annoying is their unfriendly tech support, it's in Canada, man, I spent more money calling to Canada trying to fix...

what a piece of junk

Add me to the list of people who think this thing stinks. I've got a 2.6 ghz dimension 4600 w/ 800 mhz fsb, 768 ram and a 120 gb hard drive...and this thing manages to crash my system every time. Oh yeah a top of the line ATI graphics card too...I don't know what the problem is, but the program freezes every time I start it up. It asks me to re-install the software each time I reboot the computer. Oh the CD it came with didn't even work either, it had junk stuck all over it and it wouldn't read...

im watching TV on my desktop! woo hoo!

yes the software isnt top notch. but for the price, this card is a great value. like stated in previous posts, it uses almost no system resources. the tv guide listings thing has the wrong channel lineup for my area, and im in los angeles! i just use yahoo! tv listings. and even tho 125 channels are possible, i still only get about 30. i just wanted to get this to watch local news without having to leave my AIM conversations anyway. setup/install was a breeze. make sure u have direct x 9! lots of...
