Gyration Ultra Mouse and Keyboard Suite – Customer Reviews

gyration mouse

This was a great item until it stopped working one day. I changed batteries and re set the receiver but it didnt help. I tried to contact the company but got no response. I finally sent it back to them for repair but it was refused and came back to me. All in all it worked for less than a year. Once they fix the bugs and get better customer service it should be a great item

Great Product! Exceeds my expectations.

I have to agree with all of the points of the other reviewers whom gave this product positive remarks.I have a lot of difficulty with repetitive movements in my wrist, not anymore with this mouse! Also I cannot set at a desk more than 5 minutes because of my back, now I can run my computer without a desktop.I can use it on my couch in the living room or in my bed in my bedroom with a plasma tv. It is very easy to use in the air, I don't use it for the most part on a desktop but it seemed to work that way ok too. The keyboard does kind of suck for the reasons mentioned by others.Mine sometimes I have to hit keys a few times before it registers with the computer. Very frustrating. Also the ctrl key is not on the end and that makes it difficult to use for keyboard shortcuts.

One thing the other reviewers did not mention is that the "gyro tools" software that comes with the mouse is very useful, it allows you to launchprograms without going to the start button. You can do thisin a number of different ways with your mouse. .You can program in keyboard shortcuts and access them with mouse clicks, you can use hot spots on the monitor to launch programs and to perform functions like pause and play windows media player, turn the volume up and down with a simple click of the button. Select all, f3, cut, paste, enter, home, end, find, back, forward, up, down etc.. All these functions that you would ordinarily have to go to the keyboard forin all practicality, you can dowith a single stroke or maybe one ortwo clicks with the mouse!I think the software the people at gyration wrote proves that they are trying to go the extra mile to please their customers.

As far as the keyboard goes, I would still recommend it too because you can still have a ordinary keyboard and the wireless one at the same time.At least with my computer you can.so if you just want to peck at a few keys the wireless will be there for you but if you want to type a review like this, you just grab the reliable wired keyboard that is much easier to use.

If I drop my mouse and break it I will just have to buy another one.I can't imagine going back to the desktop again.

AVOID- very easily broken gyroscope

after about 2 weeks i enevitably dropped the mouse about 2 foot on to a carpetted floor which was enough to break the gyroscope and now the pointer just stays at the edge of the screen. support were useless, no reply from the usa support and as im using the unit in the uk they say they wont repair american units at all!

when it did work it was ok although despite changing the channels, often the reception was poor and the pointer didnt move properly without big arm movements. the keyboard would also get stuck on repeating the same letter for about 10 seconds every few days, very annoying.
i tried recently plugging the suite in again and it didnt even load the software which it should do automatically so i never use the suite anymore and just went back to the good old relyable wired units.

bottom line: the mouse will eventually get dropped or knocked and it will break it first time. support were unhelpful/non-existant for me

Fragile hooks holding on keys; poor customer support

Hooks holding keys on keyboard are extremely fragile. Customer support has no replacement parts and says "too bad, buy another keyboard".

Great keyboard for your couch, just don't drop it!!

I purchased this keyboard after a friend told me it was the only one with the range to be able to use it from his bed in conjunction with his plasma screen. I actually don't even have a plasma screen, but I thought the idea was cool, and someday, when I finally buy one, at least I will be prepared.

The mouse is fabulous. I do all my computing from my couch in my living room. I keep the mouse and the keyboard on an arm, I can type in a number of different positions, and I can use the mouse from just about anywhere. I get really annoyed now by mice that require a surface, it is a pain for me after getting used to this mouse.

The keyboard needs a little work. I find that on my keyboard (three months old) some of the keys stick, they get pushed in and won't pop back up. I pried one off to repair it, and underneath it has two little criss crossed plastic pieces, so if the keyboard gets bumped (given how it is designed to be used, bumping comes with the territory) they come unconnected in the middle and refuse to pop the key back up. The bonus is they are pretty easy to fix (but after you pay this much for something, it is kind of wrong to have to fix it yourself!). The keyboard also skips letters sometimes, I think maybe that has to do with how fast I type, it just gets behind and skips one or two, so you really have to be reading what you are typing.
Other than those things, I have had no problems with this, am happy I bought it, and would definitely recommend it to anyone who spends evenings away from their family locked in their office working on their computer. Set up a computer next to a couch, and do your computer stuff with your family while they watch their shows or play PS-2 or X-Box. This way, your work gets done, and your family doesn't have to feel that they never see you!
