eBookMan series of new PDAs is a brand new device, so called "electronic book" that allows you not only to read thousands of titles available for the Microsoft Reader and Franklin's own library but to listen to audio books as well. 16-level grayscale display with 200 x 240 dpi resolution. In fact, it is a common digital assistant that will help you manage and store address-book, date-book, to-do list giving you a possibility of text entry via touchscreen. You can easily synchronize important data to Microsoft Outlook using Intellisync connection. MP3-capable music player enables you to use both a built-in headphone jack, or a speaker. Voice recording via microphone is also available.The eBookMan comes with 8 or 16 MB RAM, which can be expanded even further, with an option of screen backlighting, and with a number of book titles. A cradle with USB cable, stylus, and Quick Reference Guide are included. The device runs on two AAA batteries.

Ebookman rocks.

I really enjoy this item for downloading ebooks. There's not alot of memory for the MP3's but that's okay you just need to buy a MMC card (or Multi-Media Card I like Scan Disk they are a good brand). But when You get your book downloaded it's all good and I don't use MP3's any way so no big. It also has all the PDA features such as voice memo, phone book, calculator, game downloading capability, dictionary, ect. Over all a great way to keep organized and to read ebooks....

Handy EBM-911

I bought the Ebookman for $40 a few years ago.The unit is just small enough to fit in a shirt pocket but large enough with 3 font sizes to read. The mp3 music sounds good for me but it was meant more for audio books.I would prefer the backlight to be brighter. sure it uses batteries even while off and if they die then you WILL lose all data. I never had a problem with that because I use a multimedia card that has the entire system backed up. it's easy to backup daily.I use NiMH bats.When bats die...

Great Product, But!!

Great product.The data loss is OK.There is room for an expandion mmc card so no bigee.Not bad for the money compared to other PDAs.The opnly problem is mine won't turn on anymore.And is too old for them to replace.Reset and what ever else they suggested never helped either.I just wish they made this unit a little more solid.ivnj...

very good but not perfect

What I like about it (I own ebm-901):1. Open platform (thus lots of useful FREE software available).2. Generic AAA batteries support.3. Simple USB interface.4. Large screen.5. Good handwriting recognition.6. Sturdy and reliable case.7. Low power consumption.8. Good music playback quality.Now, about its well-known problems: folks, BACKUP your data on your MMC! This way you will NEVER lose your OS and apps! Come on! The device does have a power backup in the form of a capacitor, which is really bad...

One word...BAD

This was a total waste of money, as it had data loss time and again, and that was when the thing would work!Do yourself a favor a stay away from this product, or else you will be throwing money away just like me....
