works great for a PC, no luck on a Mac

The nuscan 3000 is an excellent barcode scanner. It is comfortable to grip, lightweight, and it works like a charm without any other software using windows xp.Plug it in, and it scans immediately, printing the text directly into a program like MS Word.My problem with the product is that the Adesso web site and the vendor I bought it from both state it works in Mac OSX, and I bought it to use with a Mac.So far, no luck with OS X 10.4.7 or 10.4.8.The user manual suggests scanning a particular programmming barcode in the manual to insure it is configured for the appropriate host, but such a barcode doesn't exist in the user manual.The toll-free support line answers to an answering machine, and the tech support guys who answered my email replied "try it on windows, if it doesn't work, then its a faulty scanner.If it does work, then we'll have to see what else we can try."Hmmmmm.On a PC, I'd rate this a five stars.As a mac product, though, its a disappointment.
