works perfect, perfect sharpens each time, even with my color art pencils that have a soft lead. - For the reviews that said it didn't last... I would just like to say, when me and friends were in school (5th grade) we would like to put staples into our pencil then sharpen... or attempt to sharpen a pen... hey, we just wanted to know what would happen? you might want to give the kids some kind of pass to use the sharpener or pull a dollar out of all of them to buy you a new one; it was them :)

This pencil sharpener is so good. I have one in my home and we use it at the school i go to. It sharpenns the pencil perfectly. And you can tell when its done sharpening. I dont know what other people taught, but i had this sharpener for years and it still works like new!

I don't know what happened to the sharpeners that were used by these other folks who rated this product so poorly, but this is the pencil sharpener in my tutor center and is used religiously by many of the students who come here. We get about 60 to 70 students in here throughout the day, working on math, physics, chemistry what have you. It equates A LOT of pencil work and a LOT of pencil sharpening. This brand has stood up to all of it, and if it can stand up to a student body of Math-heads, it has sold me, and thats why I just bought myself one!

Purchased in the spring and it was dead by the end of August.My daughter is the only one that uses pencils and it couldn't keep up with her for 6 months.It appears to be a broken switch that detects when a pencil is inserted.I'm looking for a different brand.
