Product Description
The ER-6 Isolator earphones provide outstanding sound quality and isolation in a lightweight, compact package. And at less than half the price of ER-4 earphones, they're an incredible value. Because these earphones were designed to match the acoustic response of the open ear, their response accuracy surpasses that of all other earphones and earbuds in their class. With their 15-20 dB of isolation, the ER-6's offer more external noise reduction than any other noise-reduction earphone. Why is isolation important? By blocking out ambient sounds, you can hear the full range of today's digital recordings without having to play them at unnaturally high and potentially unsafe levels. Since you don't have to boost the volume to overcome external noise, ear-overload distortion is minimized. The ER-6 Isolator earphone system includes: 5' cord with 3.5 mm stereo phone plug; 2 double-flanged silicone eartips; 2 foam eartips; 2 replacement filters; Filter-changing tool; Shirt clip; Pouch.

Great sound, big wire connection problem
I've had four pairs of the ER6 phones over the past couple of years. Each time one or both of the wires has come loose, rendering them useless. The point at which the wire is connected to the headphone is very flimsy. No strain relief or other reinforcement. The wire seems to run underneath a piece of soft rubber wrapped around the whole earpiece and straight into the tiny electronics speaker.I've tried to treat them delicately, eliminating activities I use them with each time -- exercising, walking...

purely awful!
I have been using the cheap ipod headphones for the last year andthey are horrible, so I bought these thinking they would blow themaway, well i was surprised to find out they are much worse. That's rightI said it, Much worse!First: the bass response can only be achieved ifpushed as far down your ear canal as possible, when this is done, as you walk down the street the sound of the earphones moving in your ear canal is almost as loud as the music itself.Plus if they aren't pushed down really far the...

Great little phones
I've been using my set of ER-6's for going on 4 years now.I absolutely love them. They are the best, most compact earphones for the gym, for flying, and for trying to sleep through a (simulated) mortar attack. I have a second set on my wishlist because I hate having to constantly switch them from my mobile audio player to my laptop to my cd player for long trips...a set for every audio app would be ideal! They are a little pricey, but I honestly have to say worth every penny.Amazon should carry the...

doesn't rival hi-end over ear headphones in sound, but great noise attenuation
Comfort: I don't find the ER6 uncomfortable once I've taken a moment to adjust them, though this may be because I am already used to earplugs for planes and studying.Noise Attenuation: These aren't microphonic at all, though you occasionally hear sounds conducted through the body (ie your footsteps) as a very muffled thud.Sometimes when I have the sound all the way down I can actually hear my heartbeat as a quiet muted thumping. It's a little odd at first, but I find this by far more preferable than...

I Think the Qaulity Varies Between Headphones With the ER-6s
I have had two pairs of these headphones. When I received my first set, it was tinny and had no bass. Very quiet too. I was very disappointed.Everyone kept saying that it takes a long time to get the fit right and until you do that, the headphones will not sound right. So I was patient because I figured that I was not getting a good sound because of something I was doing wrong. Then the right earphone began to hiss and crackle.I finally deduced that they were defective and sent them back. When I got...
