With the AKG Perception 200 Large-Diaphragm Condenser Mic, you get the extras that professionals need for demanding studio work, or for live music applications. Its large diaphragm delivers a full 20Hz-20kHz frequency response that will capture every nuance of any voice or instrument. It can be used in sound fields as high as 145dB, thanks to a switchable -10dB pre-attenuation pad. If you need to place the Perception 200 close to a chesty-voiced singer or a bass-heavy instrument, the mic has a low-frequency roll-off switch that engages a 12 dB-per-octave filter at 300Hz to minimize boominess. It comes with a full-size studio shockmount that eliminates mic stand vibration or footfalls from interfering with your recording and includes a hardshell road case to protect the mic from damage.

Affordable mid-range mic

By mid-range I mean the levels. This mic is very middle of the line. If you need the highs or you need the lows it picks up a good flat level in vocals. I haven't tried out any studio microphones other than this one but I was very impressed when going from a low price stage mic to this for my recording. If you really don't want to spend the money for one of the high end models but you still want a great mic this is the way to go for studio recording. I can't say anything bad about it. I got mine...

Outstanding Performance At Any Price

After trying progressively better microphones, I decided to get serious about buying a good microphone. The intended use of the microphone is for narrative vocal recording, as opposed to musical vocal recording, with the possibility of recording acoustic guitar and conga drum as well.
