Better Than I Thought

I bought the Jwin JXM for ten dollars because I read a review that claimed it's better than the Grundig S350. I was skeptical but intrigued, so I bought the JXM and surprised at how clear the reception is on both AM and FM. This is easily the lightest radio I've ever held. Like holding a feather. The reception is strong. Don't waste time or money with an AC adaptor, which will cause interference, just use two double A batteries.Weaknesses: tuning. It's hard to tune to the exact station number and...

Good Radio for Kids and Travelers

This is an good radio for kids and travelers.The sound (monorail only)is clear and can be improved with earphones or ear buds.Short wave reception can be improved by attaching a long wire (with an alligator clip on one end) to the built-in antenna.It makes a good travel radio alarm clock too.The clock and alarm, like everythig else, is easy to set.Manufacturers of more expensive radios (like China's Kaito)could take a lessen in ergonomics from the JX-M14.Watch out for shipping and handling charges...

Great Value

Big bang for the buck; I use this on my kitchen table to listen to the news during breakfast.My only complaint is that it defaults to FM so I always have to switch to AM when turning the unit on....

Good reception, poor craftsmanship

I had to return the product because some of the liquid crystals in the digital display were not showing. For example, you couldn't tell 3 from 8 or 9 and so on. This made the clock and band dial a kind of pain in the neck to deal with. This was the only problem but still big enough to justify a return. The rest of the craftsmanship was so-so, i.e. everything was working but felt flimzy. However despite the troubles with the display I did go through all the waves and did notice that the reception...

"Almost Free" Radio is pretty good !

When I ordered "Passport to World Band Radio" (see my review of Passport) I saw that if I bought an additional item for around ten bucks, I woud qualify for free shipping. I remembered this little AM/FM/SW radio was listed for just over ten bucks, so I added it to the order... thus, the radio was "almost free".Now, this is not the most sensitive or selective SW radio that I have used, (see my reviews of other, more expensive SW radios), but it does bring in quite a few of the stronger SW stations...
