Product Description

The D-Link DUB-H4 2.0 is a Hi-Speed Universal Serial Bus 2.0 4-port hub with backward compatibility to USB 1.0 and 1.1. It provides an out-of-the-box industry standard that allows connection of up to four USB peripherals or devices to your USB-ready PC or Mac. The D-Link DUB-H4 is targeted at PC and Mac users that are expanding the number of USB ports on their system. The D-Link DUB-H4 2.0 is designed to provide quick and easy access to the four type "A" downstream ports for connecting USB peripherals, devices or other USB hubs. A single type "B" upstream port connects the DUB-H4 to the host computer, or another USB hub enabling up to 127 devices to be connected by cascading multiple hubs. Configured directly by the operating system, the D-Link DUB-H4 2.0 operates seamlessly with both Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh Operating Systems. As a standard USB hub, the D-Link DUB-H4 buffers USB data from any attached peripheral in compliance with USB specifications to provide an invisible extension of the USB bus. Supporting both low speed (1.5 Mbps and 12 Mbps) and Hi-speed (480 Mbps) devices, each port creates a bridge between the peripheral and host computer. Diagnostic LED's located on the top of the device provide power state (self-power) and port status on each port.

How long will it last?

I have been using this D-Link hub for about six months. The power light started flickering after about three months and now doesn't light at all.The hub works great, but I wonder how long it will last....

Great - for a while

This hub worked really well for me - while it worked! But after about 18 months it started to behave strangely - losing connections - so I needed to keep unplugging and replugging it into the computer. After about a month of this it stopped altogether. And the warranty is only for 12 months. So instead I bought another hub which has a lifetime warranty. I've had problems with other D-Link devices, so I will not be buying any again....

Accessable USB 2 Ports

For my older PC this made it easy to access a USB 2 port without crawling around to the back of the computer. It does require power for full functionality but does just what I need it to do for a reasonable price!...

Good Product

We bought this powered hub for a desktop because some of our devices were not being recognized as USB 2.0 and we finally tracked the problem down to a power issue. The D-Link was immediately recognized by Windows XP.Further, TWO devices, that previously registered individually as USB 1 when connected directly to a USB port, were immediately shown as USB 2 when both were simultaneously connected to the hub.The price was right as is the performance. We recommend it....

D-Link is tops

I had been using a Belkin F5U021 4-Port hub. My computer was constantly reporting Low USB power, I'd have to unplug something to get something else working. Since I replaced it with the D-link. No more Low USB messages; No more un-plugging.As a matter of fact I had previously replaced my LinkSys router (which I had to reset from time to time) with a D-Link. I've never had to reset the D-Link.Obviously, D-Link makes very good products.I highly recommend D-Link products....
