The Agfa DuoScan Arcus 1200 uses twin-plate technology, offering users a choice of reflective or transparent surfaces, for the ultimate in scanning flexibility and efficiency. Users can choose between an 8.5-by-11.7-inch reflective plate, or an 8-by-10-inch transparent plate, which can be loaded and processed separately. The cold cathode ray lamps extend the life of the light source by as much as five times longer than standard scanning lamps. With an optical resolution of 1,200 x 2,400 dpi and 3.2 density range, the Arcus 1200 will deliver scans that maintain clarity and detail under nearly any conditions. Included with the scanner are glassless film and slide holders in several sizes, as well as a software bundle of four programs: Photoshop LE, Readiris, Fotolook 3.5, and ColorTune. The scanner is compatible with PC and Macintosh, and it uses a SCSI-2 interface. Agfa provides a one-year limited warranty on parts and service.
