This one works.
The connectpro USB KVM Switch costs a few dollars more but it really works the first time with no hassles.I've been forced to use cheaper KVM switches at work and Windows XP never seems to play nice with them.I use this one at home with two Linux machines and a desktop and laptop running Windows XP.The switch worked the first time I connected everything together and has worked glitch free ever since....

Wireless kb/mouse works perfectly even on servers
Took it out of the box, plugged in the computers, plugged in a flat panel monitor and a Microsoft usb transmitter for a wireless kb and mouse, plugged in the power and booted up the first system with Windows XP & SP2.It took a minute or so during the boot but the mouse and kb did work just fine. Then I booted a Dell PowerEdge 830 Server with Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 & SP1...this is a slow booting operating system, but when it got to the logon screen the kb and mouse worked fine.I switched...

Exactly what I needed
I have a custom built dual-monitor PC with a Wireless MS kb & optical mouse (1 usb port).I also have an IBM Thinkpad 42p that I use for work.I wanted one monitor to be able to switch to the laptop w/ kb & monitor control (while docked). After going back & forth to Frys trying various KVM's, I finally ordered this one via Amazon and it works perfectly (save a 2 second delay after pushing the button - this doesn't matter much to me).It took about 30-45 secs to configure itself once everything was plugged...

NICE UNIT, BUT NOT FOR WIRELESS DESKTOP
Unit is very solid with very nice cables and straps.Issues:1. Keyboard shortcut key does not work2. One of the 4 cables I got was a mfg. dud. The female video into male kvm is out of wack and does not fit. (Working on RMA with mfg. about this: they seem to doubt one. Apparently no one is as technical as they).3. Using wireless keyboard and mouse: works fine some times, other times mouse is slow to respond, hangs or wont do anything. This is probably not the unit for wireless....hate to say. I read...

The best KVM I've ever seen!
This is absolutely without a doubt, the best KVM switch I've seen. It takes about 2-3 seconds for XP to recognize the keyboard and mouse however this isn't a major problem. What I do like is that because it's a USB KVM and not a PS/2 version, you can boot a PC while never actually switching to that PC to do so (which is something that really limited all manually switched PS/2 KVMs). I would definately recommend picking up this item....
