Product Description

Sporting a post-industrial design reminiscent of Bauhaus and Art Deco influences, the Teac SX CD table radio is sure to attract attention in any bedroom, office, or den. The radio features an elegant machined-aluminum faceplate and striking speaker grilles, along with a distinctive round LCD screen with a simulated analog clock in the center. The retro styling combines with the modern technology to make the radio a true 21st-century original. Audio-wise, the device is outfitted with a top-loading CD player that supports CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3-CD formats, letting users enjoy the vast majority of their digital music catalog. Meanwhile, the digital AM/FM tuner offers several station presets, making it easy to find your favorite station in less than a second.

The SX also offers a pair of built-in, high-performance stereo speakers that deliver a premium hi-fidelity sound. Additional audio enhancements stem from the distinct bass and treble controls, which let you customize the sound to your taste, and the down-firing speaker ports, which pump up the bass for richer low-frequency response. And should you dislike the tinny voices that traditionally come through when listening to talk radio stations, simply activate the Talk mode, which optimizes the voice quality of radio chatterboxes.

Other features include dual alarms with snooze functions, a display dimmer, a rear-panel headphone jack, and an auxiliary input (includes cable) for connecting portable audio devices such as an iPod or MP3 player. The SX, which also includes a wireless remote control, measures 13.5 by 4.8 by 9.5 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a one-year warranty on parts and 90-day warranty on labor.

Almost Fabulous

If you're looking for a compact, elegant tabletop radio with excellent sound and well-considered alarm clock features, then you should look elsewhere. If alarm clock features are not important to you, then the Teac SX may be exactly what you're looking for--at a much more reasonable price than some of its more well-known competitors.Beware however, that customer service is quite poor and there may be a fatal flaw in the design.I won't spend too much time on the audio qualities, as other reviewers...

Pretty nice Clock Radio

I didn't want to fork over 500 for a BOSE or Boston Acoustics, or even 350 for a Cambridge Soundworks, and then I found this little gem, for about 175 + shipping.I've had it for a few days, and so far I am impressed. The SXfunctions are very intuitive, easy to set the time and both alarms.I thought it was extremely innovative to have the button that sets the time located inside the CD player compartment, no more accidentally changing the time instead of the alarm! The alarm buttons themselves will...

Worth a look before spending $500....

I love reading reviews on products before I buy, and I usually check Amazon before I make a decision. However, when I began looking for the Teac SX-CD radio, I found nearly nothing anywhere, as far as user reviews. It appears to be a fairly new item, so I thought I would provide this review to help potential buyers. I also find the reviews to be more meaningful if one can get an idea what sort of person is writing it. I mean,it's significant if the product user is disappointed in a new clock radio...
