GPS Outfitters 35002 Vortech Reradiating Antenna
Product Description
Improve the performance of your GPS receiver with this high-performance antenna, which boosts the satellite signal so that you pick up quick, clear readings. The Vortech plugs into a 12-volt cigarette lighter and uses its unique, wide-area reradiator to transmit an amplified signal to your receiver. Because the Vortech system doesn't require a direct connection to the GPS, it works with any model of receiver and is ideal for car, boat, or RV applications, when your receiver may have trouble getting a "good look" at the satellites. Alternately, users can connect the antenna directly to the GPS antenna jack and take the GPS onto the trail for remote use. In this application, the Vortech draws power from the GPS batteries, making it ideal for hiking applications where heavy tree cover and deep canyons cause built-in passive antennas to lose the signal. The Vortech comes with MCX, BNC, SMB, and SMA adapters, letting users connect the antenna to most handheld and fixed-mount GPS receivers.
