The LC-15L1U-S features a sleek, silver design created by the world-classindustrial designer Toshiyuki Kita, who created the high-style look ofSharp's entire AQUOS line and whose artwork resides in the permanent collectionof the Museum of Modern Art. Its sculpted, rounded stereo side speakersand built-in easel stand make it simple to transport the lightweight TVfrom room to room. A built-in, rechargeable high-capacity lithium-ionbattery provides approximately three hours of viewing time, allowing plentyof time to enjoy an entire movie, either indoors or outdoors.

The set uses Sharp's SmartLink wireless digital audio/video transmissionsystem, which operates on the 802.11b wireless standard. Just connectthe included transmitter to a video source, such as a DVD player, thensit back to watch your favorite movie or TV show in any room of the house.The system transmits digital wireless signals using the 2.4 GHz band high-speedspectrum wireless protocols.

The LC-15L1U-S has an Advanced Super View (ASV) panel with Sharp's proprietaryBlack TFT low-reflection coating so it can be placed anywhere--even nearwindows, doors, or other light sources--without sacrificing picture quality.The unit also offers 170-degree viewing angles so viewers get a clearpicture from anywhere in the room, and its high contrast ratio (500:1)and high brightness (430 cd/m2) ensure clear, vivid pictures with deepblacks and exceptional color clarity.

The TV measures less than 3 inches deep without its table stand. A specialimage-inverting feature even lets you flip the image upside-down or mirrorit for hanging in an unconventional manner. Together with its wirelessA/V center, the set features multiple composite-video and S-video inputsfor your DVD player, VCR, or gaming console, an RF antenna input for olderVCRs and cable boxes, as well as a cable-ready, built-in 125-channel tuner.An electronic PLL tuner handles over-air reception of TV programming.

For the TV Lover.....

We are extremely pleased with our Sharp Aquos.We purchased it in July and were nervous.It does have limitations on how far from the transmitter it can be, but we are happy with its reach.My husband is like a kid with his Aquos.He has even carried it around like a briefcase from room to room to see how far it will go.So far...we have been able to use it on the patio, by the pool, in the garage, in the kitchen, in the family room in the bedroom and yes.....in the bathroom (my husband's dream).The...

Great to have a TV with no "tether"!

I've had this TV for a couple of months now, and it performs beautifully -- as long as you heed the warnings about 2.4GHz phones, and other wireless equipment.After replacing my old wireless phone with a new 5.8GHz model, my reception/picture is nearly flawless.The TV sits on my home office desk with a docked laptop and printer, both connected to a router.The only thing that really bothers it is when I run my microwave oven (it actually freezes the picture cold) to reheat leftovers, or whatever...

Remember the Cable Box....

What no one seems to have mentioned is that if you go through your cable box, you will indeed get all of your channels. Great.However, the problem is that if you are on the patio, and the box is inside (normal situation, right?), you have to go back in to "change" the channel on the cable box, you can not do it at the "monitor."Talked to Sharp about this and they agree.The ultimate solution, and it is probably on the way with some manufacturer, would be to build the cable box into the set, then...

Nice concept - I like it, but....

I bought mine from B&H being inspired by positive reviews from this forum. Setup was simple: TV cable hooked-up from my Comcast cable box to the TV wireless box, TV channel set to 3 - and it's working with no cables attached! When my first thrill calmed down I noticed that the picture was not so great - motion artifacts were too obvious, although the distance between the TV set and it's wireless box was just about 6'. If you know how to set VCR time, you know how to set this up

The key concern I have with this TV is the interference with my WiFi network.I'm happy to say, it coexists with my Linksys, vonage and 5.8ghz phone nicely without any slowness.I were able to set this up about 15m without even looking thru the manual. The picture has room to improve but it ain't bad.I have to admit it is quite amazing that you can carry a 15" TV around the house without any cord...
