With much the same field of view as regular binoculars, Carson's 3X Night Vision Monocular isjust as useful, except that it magnifiesin the dark. Its very modern design makes it look more like acamcorder than an optical tool. At night, you'll see almost everything as if it were the middle of the day.Like any truly night-vision optic, however, it is intended for viewing in the dark only and couldhurt youreyes if used in broad daylight. People with sensitive or untrained eye muscles might feel a bit of eye fatiguewhen initially using the monocular, but it should diminish. You might hear a slight buzzing sound whileyou're using the monocular, but don't worry--it's just the electronic motor, and is normal.--Diane Beall
