Product Description

Which format of Digital Camcorder should I choose? Tapes or DVD? How about no tapes or DVD's at all! That's the concept of the JVC Everio G Digital Camcorder. The state of the future is solid and you can get it right now.

The benefits of recording video to a hard disk are the same benefits that have made hard disk-based audio players so popular Â? random access to quickly locate desired material, the ability to effortlessly delete unwanted material, and easily rearrange the playback sequence. What's more, there's no danger of mistakenly recording over something that's to be saved. Scene selection is made easy thanks to on-screen index images, so the large amount recorded won't become a hindrance to quick accessibility. And with remote control operation, it is possible to connect the Everio G camcorder to a TV and operate it from a distance, just like a DVD deck. Playlist operation allows recording of desired clips directly to DVD with the optional DVD burner, or directly to VHS or other analog input devices with the S-Video or Composite video output for perfect copies every time.Zoom -15x Optical/700x Digital ZoomHigh-quality MPEG-2 Recording30GB Hard Drive CamcorderF1.2 Lens, 1.33 Megapixel CCD2.5 Clear LCD MonitorAuto LED Light, Power Linked OperationUSB 2.0 high speed interface for rapid memory transfer3-D Noise Reduction for clear pictureDVD-Movie Quality FootageImage Stabilization -Floating Suspension System; Gravity-like Force Sensor SystemResolution -1152 x 864, 1024 x 768, or 640 x 480 digital stillsSD Memory Card slot for storing still imagesDPOF (Digital Print Order Format)DCF, PIM 3 and Exif 2.2 for optimized print qualityMake Full-length DVDs Easily - Easy dubbing to a VCR or DVD recorder or DVD Drive connected with Windows PC or Macintosh computerPlay video directly onto TVCyberLink DVD Video Creation software for

JVC Does Not Stand Behind Their Products - JVC Lemoncorder

I agree with the many other users who have experienced the "Condensation, Operation Paused" defect on their JVC GR-xxxx. Despite numerous others reporting this problem, JVC says its not a recognized problem. I would disagree - it is a recognized problem, but its your problem, not theirs....

An average camera with an infinite recording time

I bought this to replace my broken Digital8 Sony camcorder and the same sales guy who sold me the Sony 6 years ago advised me to buy this JVC, on one single criterion: the near-infinite hard disk drive storage. This was almost the only claim that was actually fulfilled.Summary: infinite recording time, disappointing image quality and control for the price, painful editing. Not for the average iMovie user.Positive points:- the storage capacity: a dream. I thought that 7 hours of high-quality video...

Uber Convienant Video Camera

You know what I hate about video tapes in camcorders? You never really know where the record heads are:"If I hit record now, am I taping over something else? Now let's see, the last time I played back the tape, I think I fast forwarded back to the current record mark... or did I? Ooops, I missed my chance at a great clip... again."With a hard drive, there is no chance of recording over older clips. The camera is always ready to record, if the battery is still charged. Yes, the battery it comes with...

Excellent (for for average users)

Please note that since there have already been many user reviews written, this may not seem like much of a "review", but I thought I would touch on a few things I was wondering about myself before buying the camera in case it might help someone else. This hard drive-based camcorder is wonderful. Well done JVC! I was going to buy the next model up, the MG70, but since I don't use it for photos, I don't believe I would benefit from the increased megapixel CCD. Besides, the MG70 only had 10x optical...
