Product Description
The Sony DCR-TRV130 is an entry-level Digital8 camcorder with a lot of pop. Featuring a 20x optical zoom, with Sony's SteadyShot image stabilization for those with shaky hands, you should be able to get right into the action of whatever scene you want to shoot. Coming with all of Sony's standard features--including Super NightShot for 0-lux shooting, and analog audio and video inputs--the DCR-TRV130 is a great camcorder. And you get all the benefits of a digital camcorder: 500-line resolution and PCM digital audio.
The Program AE mode lets you choose from among seven different presets, helping to ensure quality footage in any situation. A photo mode records stills onto a tape along with up to seven seconds of audio. You also get seven fader modes, eight picture effects (including monotone and sepia), six digital effects, and a 16:9 shooting mode.

Nice Camera
I've had this camera for almost a year now, and it's the first movie camera of any kind I've ever used. I have a digital still camera (an olympus 2100cz) so I'm not a neophyte.I'm finding it easy to use. I use to film my wifes speaking engagements. So i've used this camera in a small room with only 5 or 6 people in it, or in very large auditorium with 200 or so people in it. It worked beautifully. The remote helps a lot when using atripod. Excellent for starters
This camera was given to me for Christmas a couple of years ago.It has good video quality, and the ability to play back the tape using an S-video jack.The fade options are limited when compared to other Sony products, but for an entry level camera it is a good value.I recommend this camera to anyone who just wants to record special occasions and for playing around.If you are a serious shutterbug, I would recommend something with more bells and whistles.Overall this camera is a very good quality...

New Owner and very pleased !
I visited several sites, and looked at a lot of product reviews. But after reading some of the reviews here, I decided to take the plunge! I purchased mine for ... less than the stated price here, even though I'm not pleased with the customer service I received from the store I bought it at, I VERY please so far with MY NEW Sony DCR-TRV130! I also brought the infrared unit and can't wait to try it out! I going to get the upgrade for my PC, and I will be set.OOPs almost forgot, both the DV Camcorder...
