The sony 505 is very nice.Easy to use, contains new technologies, such as CMOS chip instead of ccd, VR format, which allows more edit control on your RW DVD's.The only disappointment was the super slow motion record feature.The recording becomes granular in order to handle the faster frame rate processing.It is a nice feature, though.
I was excited about getting the lens pack, but had a couple of dissappointments and one lens I had to exchange due to threads being stripped out on the wide angle.The telephoto lens creates a black halo around the 16:9 format, which renders the lens, for me, useless.The same thing happens if you attempt to stack 2 filters on top of each other.I tried to have the UV filter layered under the polarize filter and got a similar halo around the perimeter.One at a time works fine, but not in conjunction with anything else, including the other lenses.I will see myself purchasing the sony lenses in the future.However, with all that negative said, it is a good novice starter lens set, that gets you familiar with the relative usefulness of the different attachments you can use in certain situations.It has helped me understand why some lenses cost more than others.8/18/2006 12:00 AM | Rating:
