Disappointed

It is a pain in the neck to use! Many times it would turn my camera's switch ON when placing the camera back into the carrying case. Takes a lot of time and patience to take the camera out and to put it back into the leather carrying case. The strap is uncomfortable on the neck, too narrow. I wound up buying a regular soft sided Tamrac camera case that also provides room for the filter lenses, extra memory and lens cleaning stuff. Junked the Leather Carrying case....

Does the job - not great, though!

This bag does what it was intended to do: protect the camera. However, in the field it is a bit cumbersome. To shoot properly, one should remove completely the main cover, as it is large and if left swinging, makes it harder to handle the camera. I found that when I was shooting pictures often I just removed entirely the main cover leaving only the part that screws to the bottom of the camera. That piece actually improves, in my opinion, the grip and feel of the camera. With time, removing the cover...

Good case, but...

Excellent quality and fit.I like the tripod socket screw that securely holds the case to the camera.Reminds me of the design of the old 35mm SLR cases. What I don't care for is the two wing flaps under the lense that makes putting the case over the camera a bit cumbersome. Often, I would accidently turn the camera on or worse yet, switch the autofocus setting to manual. It seems like that was the only way the designers could get the case over such a long lense.Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars...

It takes time to get used to it!

This is the best possible case for the Cybershot DSC - R1. It fits perfectly and the inner parts of the case are perfect to protect the camera. You will not find a better case to carry your Cybershot on-the-go. What I didn't like about it is that it takes your time to get used to put the camera back in or out from the case, I mean, if you are on the go and suddenly you want to take a picture you won't be able to do it quicky unless you get used to it. That's my only comment about the camera....
