Product Description

Eliminate the biggest hassle of home theater: wiring surround sound speakers. The Kenwood RFU-6100 is a wireless solution that features a transmitter and receiver that operate using RF (radio frequency), which eliminates the speaker AC plugs found on conventional wireless speaker systems. With the RFU-6100, you can use higher-quality surround speakers than are typically found in conventional surround speaker systems.

The separate RF receiver unit has a built-in high-power digital amplifier for the surround speakers (up to 50 watts x 2 channels), which dramatically improves sound quality over conventional wireless systems, and it can be used up to 100 feet away from the transmitter. Active circuitry reduces noise interference, and 4 selectable RF transmission channels eliminate interference from other RF devices.

No more wires across the living room floor!

Instead of running wires across your room a wireless transmitter sends the signal from your tv / dvd /receiver to the wireless receiver in the back of the room. You simply plug in the wireless receiver inthe back of your room, plug it into the AC outlet, and run the speaker wires from the back receiver to you rear speakers.The good:No more snaking wires under carpets , around coffee tables, along base boards. Wireless? Not really . . .

This is such a scam--READ THE REVIEWS before buying.This unit broadcasts a signal to a wireless receiver which you must hook up (with wires) to your surround speakers AND plug in to the wall.Not only are the wires to the speakers only 3 feet long, but they are WIRES!!!What this means is that if you don't place your surround speakers within 6 feet of each other AND within a few feet of a wall outlet, this thing is pretty much useless.I don't know of too many folks who place their surround speakers...

OK

Works OK but every 5 or 10 minutes there is a "PFFFT" sound followed by a volume increase of about half a second...like the receiver suddenly received a stronger signal and then lost it again.I've tried all 4 frequencies and all do the same thing....very annoying....

Does what is said it would

Installation was fairly easy. The receiver and transmitter are about 50' apart in my setup and it preforms flawlessly....

Kenwood wireless rear speaker system

The Kenwood is not completley wireless.You do have to use wires from your receiver to the base unit and from the receiver to the rear speakers.However it provides excellent sound with no distortion and is very easy to set up.Very pleased with the unit....
