Occasional Lockup

I've had this unit for about a month. It pulled in more stations than another unit I bought (Digital Stream), which I hope to have repaired under warranty (it died after 6 months). I'm not sure, but I think the images were sharper with the Digital Stream. It could also be that I was amazed by my first taste of HD reception and the Humax came along after I had acclimated myself to it. Only a side-by-side comparo with otherwise equal equipment can I be sure.Filling a 16:9 screen w/non-widescreen broadcasts...

HUMAX Digital ATSC Tuner for HDTV

This unit is very easy to hookup and operated.At near east side of Orlando city, Florida, I can receivedvery clear 30 channels off the air.Very well design box.The only negative about this box is occationally, the boxis hung (not thing responses even the box is turn ON.) andthe only way to recover is to unplug and replug back in thepower cord.All channels are retained after reset, so youdo not have to setup again.For less than $140, it worthedto own this box.No need to pay for cable....

Enjoy the new digital broadcasting at a very affordable price

If folks only knew what is now available over-the-air they would be putting up a new antenna or hooking up the one they abandoned when they signed up for cable or satellite. This tuner makes available all the new digital broadcasting whether you have a high definition TV or an older non-high definition ready TV. When it's good, it's very, very good; when it's not, it is horrid

As others, I too have had the unit lock-up, freeze, and provide all one color (green) to the picture.However, I have found that unplugging it from the TV set (I use an HDMI connection) and replugging it will cause it to work just fine. Or for a freeze, unplugging it from the wall socket and replugging it will allow the unit to operate perfectly on the restart.I have had it now for six months. It's been doing this since the first week I owned it. I contacted the company while it was still in warranty...
