Sylvania's 13-inch color TV with built-in VCR makes a good basic choice for use in the kitchen or anywhere you want a compact TV with recording and playback capabilities. It's completely cable-ready, with a 181-channel direct-selection tuner and timesaving automatic channel setup, and the VCR has automatic head cleaning and a 1-year, 8-event recording timer.

The VCR's clock time conveniently sets itself when the unit is used within range of a PBS broadcast station. The VCR features automatic rewind at the end of a tape, sleep and wakeup timers, and automatic repeat play, a useful feature for demonstrations or tradeshows. In addition to programmable timer recording and daily and weekly timed recording, it also gives you instant, one-touch, timed recording of anywhere from 30 to 480 minutes.

The VCR records at two speeds, SP (Standard Play) and SLP (Super Long Play). In SLP mode, you can search forward or backward through your recordings at either high or super-high speeds. In SP mode, you can search at high speed. Automatic power on/off saves time, turning the TV/VCR on automatically whenever you insert a tape, and turning it off and ejecting a tape after automatically rewinding it.

The 6313CE's onscreen menus are available in English, Spanish, or French and can be controlled via the 32-key remote control, which also gives you full control over the picture's brightness, contrast, color, tint, and sharpness. It can display Closed Captioning text and offers V-Chip based parental controls to keep kids from watching what they shouldn't. Other convenient features include last-channel recall, resume power-on after a brief power interruption, and auto shutoff after 15 minutes if there is no signal received.

The 6313CE provides front A/V inputs for quick and easy connection of camcorders, digital cameras, and game consoles, as well as an RF connector in back for use with cable or the supplied rod antenna.
