Great Receiver!

I got this receiver about a month ago so I have had time use and provide an honest review.SET-UPThis was my first Home Theater receiver and it was very simple to set-up.I'm not sure what some of the other reviews were talking about. It comes with a microphone and it has an EZset feature that automatically detects how many speakers, what the speaker size it, how far away the speakers are, automatically sets the crossovers. It takes about 5 minutes, all you do is click "Start" from the online menu and...

Unit Broken..Power Shuts Itself Off After Only a few Minutes

The sound is excellent. It even looks great. I almost returned it when the optical outputs had only one working. I didn't (in all fairness) read the book. After all, I've hooked up many receivers over the years. Only one was working by default. Once I got the other one working, it worked beautifully. Also, I have it hooked up with HDMI from OPPO 971 to Samsung LCD and a box set of Harman Kardon HKTS 14's w/ 12" sub and all of it running through a Monster Power 3500 Mk2. Sound is clean and I like...

An outstanding receiver that doubles as a space heater

The first "good" receiver I bought was an HK - it lasted many years and was followed by some "other manufacturers" receivers that never lasted as long. So I took the plunge to buy this (at a fantastic price on Amazon).Surprisingly difficult to set up (2 Kef 104.3s and a subwoofer), but once I got everything sorted out, watched (well really, listened) to a movie with the simulated surround sound in 2 speaker mode. Wow.But other reviewers have covered the quality etc etc. What they haven't mentioned...

great reciever

This reciever is great. It has so many fun tricks. I would reccommend anyone who buys this reciever to also buy the harman kardon hkts 14 speaker system with the stands. This system I just purchased and I love it. It makes watching movies the highlight of my day....

Excellent, but some silly features

The receiver is excellent over all and delivers wonderful sound, but the controls are a little silly. In order to change the volume, the user must first press the AVR button on the remote and then the volume control, instead of just having the volume control default to the AVR which is the only thing it changes. Most of the rest of the functions work well, and the learning remote, while mediocre is no worse than others I have had to use....
