Product Description
The SC-HT920 home theater system from Panasonic packages a high-end, all-in-one receiver and five-disc DVD player with six powerful surround-sound speakers. Connect your TV to the SC-HT920 and you have an instant home theater with power, versatility, and high-quality audio and video.
At the heart of the SC-HT920 is a sophisticated, flexible, easy-to-customize core component for both audio and home theater. The receiver's Dolby Digital and DTS decoders provide crisp, clear sound, and Dolby Pro Logic II Surround yields richness to movies and music. The SC-HT920 has three surround modes: movie, music, and panorama. These settings can be altered to fully customize your audio experience.
Give your sound further definition with the SC-HT920's sound enhancement modes. Panasonic's Sound Field Control features six preset modes for music that can add extra punch to all kinds of musical styles. The Super Surround mode simulates multichannel audio for discs not recorded in Dolby Digital or DTS sound. Panasonic's Center Focus mode enhances the dialogue in movies and TV programs by concentrating it into the center speaker. You can adjust individual speaker levels to create a perfect sound. After all the audio settings meet your approval, you can preserve them in memory to immediately recall them the next time you watch a movie.
The SC-HT920's DVD player produces a remarkably vivid picture and lifelike sound through progressive-scan technology, which yields high-resolution visuals with eye-popping colors and a minimum of onscreen distortion when used with a digital television set. The player also offers a wide variety of viewing tools and options, including variable speed search, slow motion, freeze frame, digital zoom, and a memory function that automatically returns you to the point on the DVD that you last viewed.
In addition to playing regular DVDs, the SC-HT920 plays DVD-RAM, CD, CD-R, MP3, WMA, and JPEG discs. An AM/FM tuner is built into the unit with 30 presets for your favorite stations. The receiver supports a wide array of audio and video components--CD players, tape decks, DVD recorders, VCRs, and more--and has a variety of audio and video inputs, including composite, component, S-video, and digital connections.
The all-inclusive SC-HT920 has a full set of six speakers to create a full, realistic multichannel surround-sound experience in your home theater: two front speakers and two surround speakers with adjustable height speaker stands, a center speaker, and a subwoofer. The primary speakers utilize Panasonic's unique tall, thin design and reach 44 inches tall when the speaker stand is full extended. The front-channel speakers put out 170 watts per channel, the surround speakers have an output of 70 watts per channel, and the subwoofer kicks out 260 watts per channel.
The universal remote control included with the receiver allows you to control the other components in your home theater, as well as all six speakers in the multichannel audio array.

Panasonic SC-HT930
I bought a Panasonic SC-HT930 home theater system online from Dell.I thought the sound quality was great. But within about three weeks it jammed up.There were two CDs inside and the drawer would not open.Every time I turned it on it immediately gave an error code and turned itself off.I called Dell and they refused to help saying it had been more than twenty-one days from invoice. When I called Panasonic they referred me to an authorized service center in my area.I called after one week and was told...

One of the Worst Home theater - Don't buy panasonic
Hi we purchased this unit in April, 2005 for almost over $400.00. This unit didn't had reviewed by then. We thought since we are putting good money we get a pretty decent system but the performance is not what we expected. It can't play DVDs for more than 2 or 3 hours. After that it continually tries to read but unsuccessful. Please don't buy this unit at all. Try looking for a SONY or BOSE if you can afford.Lesson learned is beware what you buy and let others write review about the unit then you...

Very Powerful, Great Value and Performance
I just received this theater system yesterday and it is wonderful.I found it very easy to setup, the directions are very easy to follow and understand even if you aren't electronically inclined.Plus the manual isn't a 100 page book you have to read to learn how to run the system.I love the design of the system also.Panasonic made the DVD 5 disc changer look really cool by making the front of it look like a mirror. Also around the volume knob, it glows with blue light when you turn the system on.The...

Stay away from Panasonic!
Customer Service - the Panasonic website claims this is very important to them. I had my home theater only 3-4 months when a VCR tape got stuck. I has now been at the service center for almost 4 months! When I am lucky enough to get a response from Panasonic (which is rare), they make promises of completion and/or replacement. But promises won't play the DVD's my family would have liked to watch together over the holidays. When we finally got through to the customer service center on the phone,...
