Having some trouble with this new TV: It doesn't work!
Just recently bought this TV from Best Buy and I tried to turn it on but it doesn't work at all. After calling Philips support 4 times, I was told that it would take 2 months to get a certain part in to the nearest service centre (a 4-hour train trip for me to get there). Now I have no TV because I sold the last one and several other possessions to get this. I hope the TV gets fixed... The ambilight works....

One word JUNK!
"I have had this since 2/06, after approximately 4 months the tv stopped working. Service was called and it took 1 month to order the part. Three weeks later the same part failed and service was called again. They were told this part was on back order with no estimated time for it to come in.I contacted Philips and was told they can do nothing for me. I then asked for a phone number for customer service and the lady REFUSED to provide me with it. One would have to ask themselves why they would purchase...

Bad Experience with a Philips Plasma TV
We bought a refurbished 42" Pixel Plus flat screen plasma TV. We saw a beautiful, highly detailed picture - for about 4 hours - then we couldn't get it to turn on again. The repair guy couldn't get it to work either. He said that he would have to take it to the shop and see if he could figure out what was wrong. He also said that he had seen a lot of problems with Philips plasma TVs. After having the TV for only 5 days we have made arrangements to send it back to Philips for a refund....

Reading the book helps
I may have a newer version? I have a book, minimal but still lets you know what the menus are for, and I have a volume bar. Anyhow, above title comment refers to the book (or CD, if that's all you have) stating outright that, if the tv overheats, it will turn itself off until it is properly cool. Those of you whose tvs are turning themselves off - is your tv properly ventilated? It is quite stringent about leaving plenty of airspace around the set and not putting it near any heat source (that includes...

BEWARE OF BUYING A PHILIPS PRODUCT
This is the worst experience I have ever had with a company and a product.Right from the beginning we had a tv that turned on and off by itself, whenever it wanted to.Since we had no idea this was a problem with this product, we thought it was the cable company or products. After a few months of working with the cable company, I read online about other people having this same problem with this tv.This is when the nightmare began, we made the mistake of calling Circuit City who referred us to Philips...
