Product Description

These Northridge E Series 3-way, dual 6" floorstanding loudspeakers deliver superb audio when used for critical listening in a stereo system, or combined with other components to create a home theater system. Equipped with JBL's titanium-laminate tweeters and PolyPlas woofers, these speakers reproduce high notes with extreme clarity. The lows and mids, efficiently boosted by dual 6" woofers and assisted by the FreeFlow flared ports, are loud and clear, without unwanted distortion or boominess. Features 200-watt maximum amplifier power with 100-watt/400-watt continuous/peak power handling. Dual sets of sturdy gold-plated, 5-way binding posts enable bi-amping or bi-wiring. The computer-designed, miter-joint cabinets virtually eliminate distortion, and their slim European profile won't overpower your room. Each speaker is 40 lbs. 36-1/2WX8-3/8Hx13-1/2D".

Customer Reviews

One word: WOW.

These speakers will literally change the way you hear your music or movie collection. They beautifully separate the a capella voices of (for example) Ladysmith Black Mambazo and make it sound as though they are performing in your living room. They provide crystal clear audio upgrades to any of the Dolby or other options on a relatively sophisticated home theatre system, even one with previously great L-R speakers (infinity), and they fill even a large room with amazing sound. These speakers are so...

JBL Kills Polk, Klipsch, Velodyne!!! etc etc...

There's a few people suffering (they compared with their horrible speakers with Northridge) Let me tell you that is excellent JBL a Family Series, they give them a lesson how to research, design and built loudspeakers to half known and mediocre and semi old reputed companies. This series must be more expensive!!This first time I wanted an Infinity Alpha 40chz, but I saw these guys... (and hear the JBL E30)I power off my JBL E250P Sub, cos those has the enough deep bass (I recommend it). its perfomance...

Excellent Price and Excellent Quality

I bought a pair of the E80's last june (2004) at BB and like the other reviewer these blew away the Klipsch and the Polk. The Polk had too much seperation, they sounded more like a reference speaker (perhaps better for someone who listens to lots of electronic) and the Klipsch tended to be a little bass-oriented.That is what I like about these JBL's--crisp highs and good mid-bass, but they know when the sub should take care of the real bass.I am looking forward to getting the E35 center channel,...

Compared with Klipsch/Polk in store, liked these best

At our local BB store, we could compare the JBL speakers hooked up to the identical receiver model (older yamaha) and the same content source. These sounded better. The sound was richer, had better separation in the high end, and just wasn't muddied/or off color in the low end.For listening to music, floor standing speakers are the way to go, much better than any of those wall mountable little speakers prevalent on home theater systems. We watch quite a few music DVDs (concerts, videos) and the sound...
