I love technology and this device meets all my expectations and more! Similar to the cube, it's an extremely convienent and easy drag & drop file type exchange. Sound quality is excellent, navigation is simple, set-up is straight forward. Video playback is really great.
I've had several mp3 players: cube, iriver, rio, ipod and this one is hands down my favorite. The previous ones were either over priced, had complicated software or were limited in scope relative to this device.
Two downsides: 1) photo review is slow and 2) no accessories as of yet (i.e. carrying case) Very minor issues, still worth the buy!8/14/2006 12:00 AM | Rating:
Cube versus IPOD

I saw a review for the "cube" in the local newspaper and decided it would make a great gift for my son, who is in graduate school.The thing that sold me was the possibility of saving and viewing movies on the screen, since my son experiments with and reviews videos.Indeed, my son said that he has a full movie on it already, and is using a subscription to download music files.
Since he had such a good experience, I ordered another one for my daughter, who teaches music in another state.Then we visited her and I got my first chance to "play" with the cube.The screen colors were great and the sound good (she only had a few music files downloaded so far).Video files have to be converted to "pix" mode using the included software.One of the ear plugs was damaged when she got it, but it was easily replaced, since these are not expensive items.My son is anxious for his sister to call him so he can teach her all he knows.
Of course, it doesn't have all the accessories available for the IPOD, but seems like a relatively inexpensive alternative, with lots of memory (these have 8 GB)and video possibilities.7/25/2006 12:00 AM | Rating:
