Product Description
Model 88CD is a wonderful-sounding compact audio system for use as a "second stereo" in a bedroom, kitchen, office or den. It uses high-performance speakers and amplifiers. Two-thirds of Model 88CD's cabinet serves as the enclosure for a four-inch long-throw subwoofer. It reproduces bass with remarkable accuracy and impact. Model 88CD also uses techniques like biamplification and electronic contouring (a technique pioneered by Henry Kloss) to create a natural, accurate octave-to-octave tonal balance over the entire range of music. Its auxiliary input can be used to connect an MP3 player, stereo TV, or anything else with audio outputs.Although clearly so much more, the Model 88CD is also the ultimate alarm clock. It includes a dual alarm system that will wake up two different people at two different times, using music, an alarm sound or both. Its credit card-sized remote lets you control Model 88CD from anywhere in the room.

Wave Goodbye to Bose
Completely wonderful. Great FM reception and CD reproduction, plus an auxiliary input which really makes an iPod shine. The overall reproduction is as good, if not better, than a Bose Wave Radio, and it's almost a third of the price. It also has an intelligent alarm function which switches on the radio at a pre-set volume, so if you've been listening to a symphony at full-tilt you don't have to remember to reset the volume before switching off (I don't know if the Bose has this or not). If you want...

Love it so far - buying another today!
My daughter has a Bose Wave radio/cd unit (that her mother bought her as a present) that she usually keeps in her bedroom or bathroom. When I wanted to play some CDs and hook up my Ipod to listen to some music and audio books while she was off visiting her mom, I sort of borrowed it. The sound quality and features of that unit were pretty impressive.Deciding to get one for myself (because I knew I would have to return hers) I came out to Amazon just before Christmas, only to discover that you could...

Very simply: the best sounding and the best value!
The Model 88 was designed by legendary audio designer Henry Kloss just a year or two before he died. The Model 88 CD is the same product with a CD player added to the top. It is, very simply, the best-sounding table-top radio/CD/clock there is. If you're like me, you'd like to listen to music in rooms of the house (bedroom, kitchen, office) other than the room where you have your main sound system set up. And, when you listen to it, you'd like it to sound good. The Model 88 CD is your answer. It...

Great Radio + Good companion to my mp3 player
Cambridge radio is surprisingly quite good compared to its price. Make Bose radios look overpriced. To my untrained ears, both sounded the same. Instead of using the CD, I use it as a speaker for my mp3 player. Excellent sound quality. The fm antenna is in the electric wire, so try moving the wire to get better fm reception....

Voltage question
Hello,Could any of the owners tell me if the input voltage is universal (100V-240V). I am leaning towards buying this system.Unfortunately, I couldn't find this information on any of the tech specs (here at Amazon and at the Cambridge website). I am giving a rating of 5 since there is no "NA" option.Thanks....
