Works well

Works as advertised. However I found the volume on the radio needed to be turned up more as compared to using a casette tape adapter....

It started great then fizzled

I bought it because of the reviews and when at first it was wonderful. However, after about 2 months it started sounding fuzzy as if you were listening to an in between station where you get mostly one station but another is coming in. Now I have to hold the transmitter to get a clear signal. If I had to do it all over again I would still buy it....

Great transmission but with some very annoying design flaws

First, the signal strength is great. This is the first FM transmitter I have used that will work over top of (most) radio stations. The only complaint I have with the device when it is on and tuned correctly is that the sound will occasionally become very staticky for all frequencies. My best guess is that proximity to power lines is to blame in these cases. It's a real shame, though, that the only transmitter I've ever come across that actually transmits well suffers from a couple of truly boneheaded...

Intermittant Transmission

FM transmission is intermittent, one second perfect stereo, the other barely audible. Before returning the device the first time, I tried it in two different cars (Ford/Honda) thinking it might have to do with the alternator, but each with the same result. I ensured that the signal from my mp3 player was working properly, since I tested it with headphones. The car radios also work properly when listening to radio, tape, or CD. After receiving the replacement I experienced the exact same problem...

Fantastic sound quality!

This is my first mp3 transmitter; I couldn't be happier with the clarity of the sound. It's not tough to find a radio station to use either; there are a few in my area that come through a little weak, but the iRiver is able to roll right over whatever weak signal may be coming through. My husband is on his second transmitter; when his current one inevitably quits, we'll be replacing it with this model....
